ABBOTABAD:

K-P Speaker Assembly Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani ordered on Monday the building of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Abbottabad should be upgraded.

He expressed this view while chairing a meeting on the DHQ Abbottabad. Ghani said that during several meetings with the chief minister regarding the upgradation and reconstruction of the DHQ Abbottabad, he and the K-P chief secretary had called for its renovation.

In the meeting, Hazara Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsood, special health secretary Dr Farooq Jameel, Abbottabad DC Muhammad Mughees Sanaullah, DHQ Abbottabad MS Dr Amir Israr Ullah and officials of the Civil and Works Department were also present.

The speaker ordered the C&W to immediately demolish five buildings of the hospitals that were derelict and could cause an accident.

He told the C&W that the distance between operation theatres and wards is too long. "Shift both OT and ward in one building to facilitate the patients and healthcare workers as well."

He directed the C&W to reconstruct roads and ramps of the hospital that are being used for stretcher and wheelchairs to make the movement of patients in the hospital easy.

"Complete the PhaseI of the DHQ as soon as possible and focus on the deteriorating buildings of the women and children hospital and start the reconstruction work immediately," he ordered.
