Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the government had taken another important step by launching the Kisan farmer card which will provide direct financial benefits to the farmers in the shape of cash transfer. “This will also encourage the farmers to grow more crops to feed the countrymen.”
Speaking to the media at Multan Tea House on Monday, the SACM said that necessary infrastructure like hospitals, universities and industrial estates were being established to provide job opportunities and other facilities to the people. “The incumbent government is taking steps to establish the South Punjab province. The South Punjab Secretariat is a giant leap in this regard as the promise made with the people is nearer.”
Dr Firdous said the rights of the people of South Punjab will be given to them as both the PM and the CM were taking interest in the welfare of the people. “A historic development package is being chalked out by the government because the welfare of the citizens is the basic job of every democratic government,” she said.

The SACM remarked, “The people of South Punjab have always stood against the unscrupulous elements as a solid rock to defend the country.”
She claimed, “The PM is the only leader who understands the pain and suffering of the people of this region which is why the development of South Punjab has been made an important part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf manifesto.”
The SACM said that farmers will be able to timely procure pesticides, seeds and other essential items by collecting subsidy amount directly from the ATM through Kissan Card. “This will benefit the farmers’ community in the province as a subsidy worth billions of rupees will be provided annually to one million farmers, she said.”
