At least four people, including a minor, were killed in two accidents near Thikriwala on Saturday.
According to the police report, a collision between a speeding tractor trolley and a car near Jhang Road left 28-year-old Wasim Amin dead on the spot. His 30-year-old wife Shabana Bibi and six-year-old nephew Zeeshan Amin died later at Allied Hospital.
Police handed over the three bodies to the heirs after completing the legal formalities.
Three-year-old Rabia, daughter of Amin, who was injured in the accident, is said to be in critical condition.
Police launched a search for the driver who fled after the accident.
Separately, a speeding wagon hit a motorcycle on Jhang Road near Sudhar Bypass. As a result, 20-year-old Muhammad Noman Ramzan died on the spot, while 31-year-old Abu Bakar suffered severe injuries. He was admitted to Allied Hospital in a critical condition.
Road accidents due to reckless driving have been reportedly in Punjab recently.
Earlier this month, at least six people, including a 12-year-old child, were killed in six separate accidents near Dijkot on April 14.
Nine people including three women were injured in a road mishap and were taken to hospital for treatment.
According to an earlier police report, a speeding car in Gutwala hit 48-year-old Muhammad Boota who was riding a motorcyclist. He died on the spot.
Separately, a pedestrian was hit to death by a vehicle near Sammundri Road. According to Rescue 1122, Muhammad Sajid was walking alongside the road when a speeding truck hit him. Sajid sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Police handed over the bodies to the families after taking necessary legal action.
Meanwhile, a speeding truck hit 36-year-old motorcyclist Syed Iqrar Hussain Shah, a resident of village 92RB, near Sheikhupura Road. He was critically injured and was rushed to Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of 476GB, 40-year-old Rubina Bibi, 65-year-old Hanifa Bibi, 60-year-old Hamidan Bibi, and six others were injured when a passenger coach overturned as the driver tried to save a motorcyclist in Chak 69GB.
They were shifted to a hospital where Rafiq breathed his last. In another incident, 30-year-old Rashid was injured when two motorcycles collided on Sargodha Road. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
In another incident, 12-year-old Zahid Anwar, a resident of 58GB, was injured when a car hit him on Sargodha Road. He was rushed to Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
