‘Raise awareness about vaccinating children’
Speakers stressed the need to raise awareness about the significance of getting children vaccinated against various diseases, including Covid-19, at a seminar organised at Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Saturday, in connection with World Immunisation Week, which is observed in the last week of April every year.
Addressing the seminar, Larkana deputy commissioner (DC) Tariq Manzoor Chandio said the immunisation of children at the time of birth and until two years of age was important as it could protect them against 12 dangerous diseases. In this regard, Chandio highlighted the importance of raising awareness about vaccination. The DC added, “… it’s about saving lives.”
CMCH medical superintendent Dr Abdul Hameed Soomro also stressed the need for raising awareness about the importance of vaccination so that children could be protected against chronic diseases.
