Sindh sees 885 Covid cases in a day

Coronavirus claims three more lives; over 9,000 active cases reported as of Wednesday

With the single-day Covid-19 tally persistently rising in Sindh over the past few days, the province reported another 885 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the day.

Besides, the CM said the deadly virus had claimed three more lives in the province, lifting the death toll here to 4,562. Meanwhile, he added, the total count of Covid-19 cases reported thus far had soared to 275,080.

According to him, 388 of the new case belonged to Karachi, 163 to Hyderabad, 31 to Sukkur, 23 to Qambar-Shahdadkot, 18 to Matiari, 16 each to Badin and Ghotki, 15 to Thatta, 14 each to Dadu, Sujawal and Jamshoro, 12 each to Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Naushero Feroze, 10 to Jacobabad, nine to Tando Muhammad Khan, eight to Umerkot, seven to Larkana, four to Mirpurkhas and one each to Sanghar and Shikarpur.

The CM said 246 more Covid-19 patients had regained health in the province, following which the total number of recoveries reported in Sindh added up to 261,298.

As of Wednesday, 9,220 infected person were under treatment, with 8,780 in home isolation, nine in isolation centres and 431 in hospitals, according to the CM. He said the condition of 397 patients was critical.
