The ongoing work of de-silting canals in the Multan irrigation zone is likely to conclude soon to ensure the availability of water at the tails of the watercourses.
The de-silting campaign is underway under strict monitoring by senior officials including Chief Engineer Multan Irrigation Zone Ashraf Bhatti and Executive Engineer Aftab Bhatti in its final phase, according to Khanewal Irrigation Department SDO Chaudhry Muhammad Ahmad.

The SDO visited canals in Khanewal district that were undergoing the de-silting process and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work.
He said that the campaign would be completed soon to enable the farmers to get sufficient water for their Rabi crops.
