Senior wardens of the Rawalpindi Traffic Police, serving as acting Circle DSPs, have been deployed at headquarters and transferred to different departments, a spokesperson said on Sunday.

It was speculated that the senior wardens would be posted in the field, however, City Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal deployed all transferred Circle DSPs to different departments at CTP Headquarters.

Iqbal, after assuming charge, removed many senior traffic wardens serving as acting Circle DSPs for prolonged periods and directed them to report to CTP Headquarters. After a few days, the traffic personnel were assigned new responsibilities at the headquarters instead of field postings.

According to the CTO’s orders, Azmat Hayat has been appointed as Challan Branch In-Charge, Raja Saeed as Security In-Charge, Abrar Sarwar as Inquiry Officers In-Charge, and Ajmal Satti as Education Wing In-Charge.

Other transfers carried out include Tahira Kanwal who has been appointed CTP Driving School In-charge, Adeel Khan will serve under the Special Staff Squad from General Duty in the city sector while Bilal Ansari was deployed on general duty in City Circle, the official stated.

Sources told The Express Tribune that for the sake of adjusting some senior traffic wardens, new posts have been created in some departments.
