Pak objects to UN report on BB murder

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad raised objections over the United Nations' report on Benazir Bhutto's murder, and said the extension in the commission's tenure is unjustified.

The objections have been raised by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

The foreign minister also said that international leaders advised by Pakistan have not been interviewed by the UN.

The UN submitted its report on April 15, and declared that security arrangements by Pakistan’s federal and local authorities to protect Benazir were fatally insufficient and ineffective.

It also said that subsequent investigations into her death were prejudiced and involved a whitewash.
