Formula one: ‘I never spoke ill of Williams’

BERLIN: Rubens Barrichello has denied recent comments attributed to him in which he allegedly criticised his Williams team. Barrichello, who has bagged just four points in 11 grand prix in what has been a dismal campaign for Williams, has reportedly voiced his displeasure with his team in recent weeks. Several sources claimed he is unhappy with Williams and likened his current situation with the team to waiting for a marriage proposal. Barrichello, though, has denied bad mouthing the Grove-based outfit. “I have never spoken ill of the team,” he said. “This stemmed from the opinion of a German journalist who was mistranslated by the Italian press and which was credited to me. My interest is just the opposite -to continue the work we are doing.”
