IIUI, PITB sign MoU to encourage entrepreneurship

ISLAMABAD:

The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have signed an agreement for the establishment of the National Freelance Training Center (NFTC) at the university. Training will be imparted to youth at the centre to empower them for employment, said an official. The focus is on producing skilled and techsavvy human resource to cope with the challenges of modern technology.

The agreement is aimed to promote technology and entrepreneurship across the country. Both the university and the board have agreed to jointly work for mainstreaming digital skills. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Faisal Masjid Campus of the University which was joined by IIUI President Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi who also signed the document. PITB Project Management Unit Representatives Qambar Ali and Naila Mehmood were also present on the occasion. It was also attended by IIU Finance Planning Vice President Administration Prof Dr N. B.

Jumani along with IIU IT Incharge Qazi Shehzad Saleem. Addressing the event, the IIU president called upon universities that they must contribute to the construction of the society and said that they must work as per the needs of the hour. He said youth are the agents of change, adding that by investing in their potential, youth will open new avenues of economic stability through digital transformation. He expressed hope that the partnership with the PITB will prove to be a stepping stone towards a new era of digitally equipped youth.
