Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Sunday announced the start of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority’s new projects worth Rs4 billion from next month.
The governor said he would inaugurate filtration plants this week in Multan and Muzaffargarh, cities of southern Punjab, to provide clean drinking water to the people.
The provincial administrative lead, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar expressed these views while talking to the media along with Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority Chairman Dr Shakeel.
Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that on the issue of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority, bureaucracy, provincial government and the authority itself are on the same page due to which work on new projects is being expedited and new projects worth Rs4 billion are being launched in May for provision of clean drinking water to the masses.

He lamented that the previous governments had spent billions of rupees from the national exchequer for providing clean drinking water to the masses but it lead to no outcome because of corruption and mismanagement.
“This time we will protect every single rupee of the national exchequer and 100% transparency will be ensured in all projects,” he maintained.
He further said that corruption or undue commission would be shunned from Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority.
The patron-in-chief also told media that the authority has launched clean drinking water projects in Chak Jhumra and Renala Khurd so that people of rural communities have access to safe and clean water.
“No political discrimination would be met out to people in the implementation of these projects,” he underscored, adding that Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority will ensure the provision of potable water in those areas too where the candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) did not win.
“For the first time, a government is working only for the benefit of the citizens sans personal agenda of fulfilling their own whims,” Sarwar pointed out.
“Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, Ehsaas Programme and anti-hunger campaign are a testament of providing relief to the downtrodden strata of society.”
