ISLAMABAD:

Canton Fair provides an excellent opportunity to Pakistani companies to explore new prospects for business promotion, said Chinese Embassy Minister Counsellor Xie Gouxiang.

In a meeting with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan on Saturday, the envoy briefed him about the upcoming 129th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) that will be held online between April 15 and April 24, 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He extended invitation to Pakistani companies to attend the Canton Fair and explore prospects for export of their products all around the world.

According to him, the Canton Fair was a platform for win-win cooperation between different countries where global businessmen connected with each other, shared opportunities and pursued common development.

“In order to help companies bail out and reduce their production and operation costs, the upcoming Canton Fair will waive exhibitors’ fees and it will not charge any amount from cross border e-commerce platforms participating in synchronised activities,” he said.

“Higher participation of Pakistani companies in the fair would help promote economic and trade ties between the two countries.”

Speaking on the occasion, the ICCI president thanked the counsellor for providing comprehensive information about the benefits of attending the fair and assured participation from ICCI member companies in the event.
