Celebrities pay tribute to DMX, Prince Philip

Rapper died from drug overdose, followed by a cardiac arrest on Friday

An icon of rap music, Earl Simmons, known by his stage name DMX passed away at the age of 50 on Friday due to a fatal overdose followed by a heart attack. The Baltimore native was known for hits like Party Up (Up in Here) and Get at Me Dog. A few hours before the news of his passing came in, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh was announced dead by the Buckingham Palace. He was 99.

Multiple celebrities took to various social media platforms, remembering the Who We Be crooner’s top singles and the artist himself. Local personalities including Umair Jaswal, Ushna Shah and Shamoon Ismail also penned heartfelt condolences for the rapper. Taking the news to his Instagram, Jaswal penned, “So many memorable workouts to your amazing music. Your message and music will live on. Gone too soon, rest easy DMX.” On the other hand, Shah, Ismail and Ali Ansari shared DMX's songs on their Instagram stories as a tribute.

 

Meanwhile, Ahmed Ali Butt and Sara Loren shared a few words on the demise of Prince Philip. The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani actor honoured him by writing, “The man who stood by his queen.” Loren shared memories of the late monarch and some of his famous portraits with his wife, Queen Elizabeth II.
