Afghan Consul General Najeebullah Ahmadzai on Monday visited the headquarters of Awami National Party (ANP) — Bacha Khan Markaz — in Peshawar and discussed matters of mutual interest including the Afghan peace process.
On behalf of the Afghan government, Najeebullah offered to construct a monument to pay homage to renowned Pashto poet Ghani Khan. “All expenses would be bear by the Afghan government,” he added.
He paid rich tribute to Bacha Khan's family members’ services for the "Afghan cause and bringing the people of two countries together".
The Afghan consul general also expressed hope that the cooperation for the welfare of the two sides would continue in future.
On the occasion ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan applauded the Afghan government's steps for the welfare of its masses and brining peace on Afghan soil.
He also vowed to continue efforts for peaceful Afghanistan.
The delegation-level meeting was also attended by parliamentary leader of ANP in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa Assembly Sardar Hussain Babak, Khadim Hussain, Dr Fazal ur Rahim Marwat and Samour Bilour.
