Pakistan’s security forces on Saturday killed a terrorist belonging to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an operation conducted in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military's media wing said that an “Area Sanitisation Operation” was conducted in Boya area of the former tribal district on reports of terrorists’ presence.

"During intense exchange of fire, terrorist Ashrafullah alias Toofani, a resident of Boya, was killed," ISPR said.

It further said that Ashrafullah was an active terrorist of TTP and remained involved in target killing and other terrorist activities against security forces, extortion and planting of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

On March 6, security forces conducted two intelligence-based operations (IBOs), killing at least eight terrorists including three commanders of TTP in North Waziristan.
