The local administration in Swat has decided to shut Malam Jabba ski resort, one of the favourite tourist spots in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), after the Peshawar High Court orders.
In an order issued by the court, it had barred the administration from charging Rs300 entry fee at the resort.
Following the orders of the PHC, the Swat authorities shut down the tourist’s spot and issued instructions for the travellers to avoid visiting the place.

National Tourism Coordination Board Chairman Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari regretted closure of the ski resort during the peak season of tourism, saying it would disrupt plans of many tourists, who had planned to visit one of best travel destinations of the country before the holy month of Ramazan.
“It is unfortunate that one of best resorts is closing down in the peak season of tourism. This upsets many people's plans days before Ramazan. The last thing Pakistan's booming tourism industry needs right now is disruptiveness,” Bukhari, who is also special assistant to prime minister on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development, said in a message on Twitter.
The Samson Group of Companies which run the operations of the resort issued a statement, saying Malam Jabba ski resort had to take the difficult decision of closure of the resort as it was no longer possible to run the resort profitably. Published in The Express Tribune, April 4th, 2021.
