Jhelum reports 29 cases

There have been nine deaths amid the third wave of coronavirus

JHELUM:

Twenty-nine people tested positive for Covid-19 in Jhelum on Saturday, according to a district health authority report.

DHA Spokesperson Dr Mian Azhar Hayat said 125 asymptotic patients in the Jhelum district were observing isolation at homes.

He said 12 infected patients were receiving treatment at the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital while 39 suspected Covid patients were admitted to the same healthcare facility.

The DHA has conducted 72,925 coronavirus tests to date of which 1,899 patients were reported positive. On Saturday, 52 patients’ reports showed they had recovered. So far, there have been 50 fatalities from coronavirus.

Amid the third wave of the virus, from March 1 to April 3, the health department conducted 12,767 tests of which 418 were positive. The virus infected 69 health workers during the period
