The third wave of Covid-19 is nothing to take lightly, whether you want to admit it or not. And proof of that is the way it is spreading from one person to another. The latest celebrity victim of this wave is none other than Bollywood’s Alia Bhatt. And the Gangubai Kathiawadi star took to her Instagram to confirm the unfortunate news.

The actor has informed her fans and followers that she is quarantining at home, and will be maintaining all safety protocols as per the directives of her doctors.

"Hello all, I have tested positive for Covid-19," she wrote. "I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all the safety protocols under the advice of my doctors, frateful for all your love and support. Stay safe and take care."

Last month, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was shooting for his upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi in Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City, had tested positive for the virus. Soon after, Bhatt's beau and onscreen partner Ranbir Kapoor also confirmed that he has tested positive for the virus. And the duo is set to star in Ayan Mukerji’s action fantasy film Brahmastra which is expected to release this year.

But aside from these three, Indian singer Bappi Lahiri has also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. His daughter Reema Lahiri Bansal confirmed his diagnosis on Wednesday night and shared that he has been admitted to south Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital’s ICU ward, given his age, reported The Indian Express.

In a statement, Reema wrote, “Bappi Da has exercised immense precaution but has been detected with mild Covid symptoms. He has been admitted under the care of Dr Udwadia at Breach Candy Hospital purely as a precautionary measure due to his age. He will be fine and home soon. Thank You for keeping him in your prayers always.”

The statement added, “He seeks blessings and wishes of his fans, friends & everyone from India and abroad. On behalf of Bappi Da, we passing his message to all his well-wishers and fans to stay healthy, stay blessed.”
