Over 200 fresh Covid infections, two deaths reported in 24 hours

Two more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Thursday, when 237 new cases were detected in the province against 8,913 tests, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on the day.

The CM said following these developments, the Covid-19 death toll in the province had climbed to 4,504, and the infection tally to 265,916.

Of the new cases, 119 were detected in Karachi, 20 in Hyderabad and Shaheed Benazirabad each, seven in Matiari, six in Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar and Sujawal each, five in Naushero Feroze and as many in Jamshoro, four in Larkana, Umerkot and Thatta each, three in Jacobabad and as many in Qambar-Shahdadkot and two in Ghotki and Khairpur each.

Besides, the CM said with 108 fresh recoveries, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients in Sindh now added up to 256,384.

This has left 5,082 active cases, he said, adding that 4,742 of them were in home isolation, 10 in isolation centres and 276 in hospitals.
