Martyred female polio workers remembered

LHWs were vaccinating children in Swabi district last year

Top administrator and police chief of Mardan visited the families of two lady health workers who were martyred in a targeted gun attack during a polio vaccination campaign in Swabi district last year.

RPO Yaseen Farooq and Commissioner Montazir Khan visited the homes of the martyred LHWs and offered condolences to the bereaved families. Gunmen riding on motorcycles had targeted the LHWs while they were vaccinating children in Swabi district last year.

RPO Farooq and Commissioner Khan assured the bereaved families of all possible assistance and cooperation on behalf of the administration. They also administrated anti-polio jabs to children and reviewed security arrangements for the vaccination campaign across the district.

DPO Swabi Muhammad Shoaib Khan and DC Shahid Mahmood Khan were also present on the occasion.
