Boy killed, 12 wounded in car-van collision in Karachi

Police impounds the van and the Corolla and launches an investigation into the matter

A boy was killed and 12 others were injured as a speeding Corolla rammed into a Suzuki van near the Lyari Expressway, Meera Naka, in the limits of Pak Colony Police Station, on Tuesday.

According to the police, a family from Bihar Colony was travelling in the van to their ancestral village.

As a result of the incident, all persons inside the van and two men in the Corolla were injured and shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, where a minor, five-year-old Umeed, succumbed to his injuries. The injured included his father Abdul Rehman, 38, mother Nasreen, 28, sisters, eight-year-old Ayesha, Shakeela, Parwana and Wajeeha, aunt Noor Bano, 15, grandmother, Kaftara Bibi, 65, Shireen Badshah, 30, and Badshah’s son, four-year-old Hamza.

The two persons who were travelling in the car were identified as Zubair and Dandiya.

The police have impounded the van and the Corolla and launched an investigation into the matter.
