Sindh sees two more Covid deaths, 275 new infections

KARACHI:

Two more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Tuesday, when 275 fresh infections emerged in the province, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the day.

The CM said after the recent deaths and cases, the Covid-19 tally in the province had climbed to 265,432 and pandemic fatalities stood at 4,497.

Of the new cases, 180 belonged to Karachi, 22 to Hyderabad, 10 to Qambar-Shahdadkot and Matiari each, six to Mirpurkhas, five to Sanghar and Ghotki each, four to Badin, Umerkot and Tando Allahyar each, three to Thatta and two to Sukkur.

Besides, the CM said 100 more patients recovered from the infection, lifting the total number of recoveries in Sindh to 256,052.

This leaves 4,883 active cases, with 4,594 in home isolation, eight in isolation centres and 281 in hospitals, he said, adding that 258 patients, including 36 on ventilators, were critically ill.
