Fully-recovered PM convenes meeting on Covid
PM Imran will chair NCC meeting tomorrow to take major decisions to tackle coronavirus third wave

Making a full recovery from coronavirus infection, Prime Minister Imran returned to his official engagements on Tuesday and convened an important meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Covid-19 on Wednesday (tomorrow).
According to Express News, Imran will chair the NCC meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office Wednesday afternoon, which will review the prevailing pandemic situation in the country and take major decisions to stem the spread of the disease.
The country is in the grip of a third wave of the global pandemic, which started at the advent of March. This month, the country saw around 80,000 new infections, and more than 2,000 fatalities. Only on Tuesday, according to official data, 100 people succumbed to the deadly contagion.
The prime minister was test positive for the Covid-19 last week, two days after receiving the first dose of the two-shot vaccine. After the test, he went into isolation. On Sunday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Faisal Sultan had said that Imran had made steady recovery.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan said in a tweet on Tuesday that Imran had "fully recovered" from coronavirus, adding that the prime minister had started building up his work routine as per doctors' instructions.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan has fully recovered. He has resumed work gradually & started building up his work routine as per doctors' instructions keeping in view national & intl guidelines. May ALLAH grant health to all. Ameen. Take care of urself & others #StaySafe,” he tweeted.

Imran was not the only senior government functionary to be down with Covid-19. On Monday, President Arif Alvi confirmed on his Twitter account that he also had contracted the infection. Later, it was also revealed that Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak was infected with coronavirus.
And on Tuesday, when the news came that Imran has made full recovery and resuming his official duties, the outgoing Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Shaikh became another senior member of the government to be tested positive for the contagion.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran telephoned President Alvi and enquired after his health. During the conversation, the prime minister shared his experience of spending time in isolation. He advised to president to take soup and take full sleep.
