Foreign diplomats –,European Union Ambassador Androulla Kaminara, Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour, Ambassador of Denmark Lis Rosenholm – called on army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the military’s headquarters in Rawalpindi.
“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and enhanced bilateral cooperation with European Union (EU) and Canada came under discussion,” a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
“Pakistan values its relations with EU countries and Canada and we earnestly look forward to enhance mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interests,” the military’s media wing quoted Gen Qamar as saying.
The visiting dignitaries also appreciated Pakistan’s role in regional stability, especially the Afghan peace process, it added.

During the meeting, the ISPR said, all sides pledged to play their role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation at all levels.
Earlier this month, Commander Strategic Command UK General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders also called on General Qamar and discussed matters pertaining to regional security and mutual interests.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s sincere efforts in fight against terrorism and efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan peace process, the ISPR had said.
