Saba Qamar's beau wants accusers to file a report instead of running smear campaigns

Blogger has responded to allegations of misogyny and Qamar trusts him

Saba Qamar recently sent social media into frenzy after accepting a marriage proposal on Instagram.

It all started when she shared photos of herself in a stunning pastel backless gown on the beach with the caption “If it's meant to be, it will be.” Under one of these clicks, vlogger Azeem Khan commented, "Let's get married? This year," to which Saba responded, "Qubool hai."

Many assumed she was only messing around considering her staunch stance against the institution of marriage. But when approached by The Express Tribune, the Cheekh star confessed she had in fact found a partner in Azeem and was planning to settle down with him.

Congratulations started pouring in for the Hindi Medium star but all that excitement dumbed down when some alleged Azeem had had a history of problematic behaviour, particularly with women. Although Azeem didn’t specify anyone but perhaps it was these allegations that led him to provide what appears to be a clarification on social media.

“I just want to thank everyone out there who has shown us great amount of love and support. Lekin barsaat ka mausam ho or barsati keeray bahar na aaen, aesa tou ho nae sakta / So some bugs did come out to infest my peace,” shared Azeem perhaps referring to the accusers. “I just wanted to respond to them through this video message because they have wrongly accused me,” he claimed.

Azeem went on to ask why users – who are settled abroad – were accusing him on Facebook statuses instead of utilising a proper channel. “I just want to ask, what is the point of uploading a status on social media and reaching out to the people of the entertainment industry to repost instead of approaching me through a proper channel?”

“Your country has a court, a police station, an immigration department. Take your concerns to your immigration department. Tell them to get in touch with my immigration department. Why is it necessary to create a scene on social media when you have no proof, no evidence and you are just ruining someone’s upcoming life for two minutes of fame,” said the blogger, who according to Saba is also a Sydney-based-entrepreneur.

“Our [his and Saba’s] intention is to respectfully get married and settle down. But I came to know that there are some people who are trying to make fake screenshots, these people [points at the barking dogs in the background] will keep at it for the rest of their lives, but what is the point?” he continued.

Azeem then shared that neither him nor Saba, cared about each other’s past. So running any and every kind of campaign would be pointless. “We are only concerned about our present and our future together,” he shared. “Aside from that, whatever the world says or thinks; we do not care. You’re putting so much effort into something that will lead you nowhere. So this is the last video I will make on this topic because, in spite of the fact that you tried so hard, I will not even name you here.”

He then urged the accusers to file a report against him and post that report on social media if they wanted to hear back. In response to his extensive tirade, his wife-to-be, and actor, Saba commented saying, “I trust you.”
