Holi celebrated in Sindh

Several ceremonies organised in temples across the city

The Hindu community in the city celebrated the festival of Holi with great enthusiasm on Sunday. Holi is regarded as the beginning of spring season and colourful events were held in different localities Several ceremonies were organised in temples across the city on this occasion. The community offered prayers, decorated their homes with beautiful rangoli patterns and threw colours at each other.

Reports gathered here by this correspondent state that in Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Jaccababad, Kashmore-Kandhkot, Shikarpur and other districts of northern Sindh Holi was observed on Sunday with full fervour. The community members sprayed red, yellow and silver powder on each other.

In Sukkur region temples were tastefully decorated and the community participated with religious devotion in the day- long proceedings. Special ceremonies were held at Sadhu Bela temple situated on Indus River and other temples of the city.

In Khairpur, Kashmore-Kandhkot, Mirpur Mathelo, Shikarpur and other districts Holi festivities were held with great joy.

Holi celebrations will continue for few more days.
