Sindh sees 293 fresh Covid-19 cases

The virus death toll in the province rises to 4,487, while the infection tally reaches 264,354

Sindh reported one coronavirus fatality and 293 fresh cases on Friday, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the day.

Following these developments, the CM said, the Covid-19 death toll in the province had risen to 4,487, while the infection tally had climbed to 264,354.

Among the new cases, 128 were detected in Karachi, 18 in Hyderabad, 15 in Ghotki, 13 in Mirpurkhas and Benazirabad each, 10 in Matiari, seven in Thatta and Khairpur each, six in Tando Muhammad Khan and as many in Qambar- Shahdadkot, five in Sujawal, four in Naushero Feroze, three in Jacobabad and Jamshoro each and one in Sukkur and Larkana each.

Besides, the CM said, with 112 recoveries overnight, the number of total Covid-19 recoveries reported in the province added up to 255,511.

He added that as of Friday, 4,356 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in Sindh, with 4,070 in home isolation, eight in isolation centres and 249 in hospitals.

The CM said the condition of 249 patients was critical and 39 of them were on ventilator.
