On March 20, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan confirmed that the premier had tested positive for coronavirus. Dr Faisal had said that PM was isolating at home.
The news came two days after Pm Imran was vaccinated against the virus. Following the development, the ministry of national health services clarified that the premier was "not fully vaccinated" when he contracted the virus.
The ministry added that only the first dose of the vaccine had been administered, which was "too soon for any vaccine to become effective".
It further added that anti-bodies against the virus develop 2-3 weeks after the second dose of the vaccine is administered.
