Pakistan Customs Jinnah Terminal has foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of cocaine.
Deputy Collector Customs Jinnah Terminal Inam Wazir told The Express Tribune that two Nigerian passengers travelling on a Qatar Airways flight were trying to exit through the Green Channel were stopped. Their luggage was examined. When the passengers were subjected to a physical search, they confessed they were carrying cocaine capsules in their stomachs.
The passengers were taken to Jinnah hospital where an x-ray report confirmed that they had cocaine. The DC said the cocaine capsules were recovered. The contraband weighed about 2,400 grams and worth about Rs50n million. The customs authorities registered a case and arrested both passengers and obtained their remand.
