Khalilur Rehman Qamar lauds Humayun Saeed on civil award

'After a very long time, I see Pride of Performance is given to a deserving person,' the playwright shared on Twitter

President Dr Arif Alvi has conferred Pakistan civil awards on prominent personalities including foreign nationals in recognition of their services in different fields including medicines, education, social services, fine arts and for showing gallantry in the war against terrorism and during the coronavirus pandemic.

During the investiture ceremony held at the President's House to celebrate Pakistan Day on Tuesday, the president bestowed the Pride of Performance award on actors Humayun Saeed, Resham, Sakina Samo along with singers Abida Parveen, Ali Zafar, while Bushra Ansari and Zeba Shehnaz were conferred with Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Many took to social media and congratulated the stars on being honoured with civil awards. #HumayunSaeedPrideOfPakistan was trending on top on the microblogging site on Tuesday. The likes of Mahira Khan, Adnan Siddiqui, Shaan Shahid and others took to social media and lauded the star. Among them was playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar, who had penned Saeed's popular drama serial Meray Paas Tum Ho, which also starred Siddiqui and Ayeza Khan in pivotal roles.

Taking to Twitter, the writer shared, "After a very long time, I see Pride of Performance is given to a deserving person. You really are one of those few [actors], so congratulations to you Humayun Saeed from the core of my heart."

Qamar, who is known for his troublesome statements, has often made headlines about the same.
