Balochistan and K-P hold ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ rally
The Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governments celebrated the Pakistan Day with traditional zeal and fervor on Tuesday.
In Balochistan, a “Pakistan Zindabad” rally was held in Pishin district to commemorate Pakistan Day during which a 1,200m long green flag was unveiled and carried by students who vowed to die for their beloved country.
Different rallies were also held all over the province commemorating the Pakistan Day. They were attended by a large number of district administration officials, tribal elders, leaders of various political and religious parties apart from workers and people belonging to different sectors.
Addressing the rally, tribal leader Agha Asmatullah paid tribute to the sacrifices of the security forces, adding that peace and stability in the country is due to their sacrifices. “March 23 is a very important day for every person living in this country.”
He vowed that all the people living in Pakistan would prove to be a concrete wall in the defence of the country.
A function was also held at the Governor House Quetta in connection with Pakistan Day.
The commemoration event for March 23 was attended by a large number of dignitaries while several citizens with extraordinary services in various walks of life were given pride of performance awards.
The recipients of the civil awards included Daria Khan, Muhammad Yousuf Gachki, Habib Panezai, Dr Farooq, Prof Dr Shirin Khan, Ghazala Jumma Khan, Suleman Khan Mehtarzai, Prof Sahibzada Hameedullah and Mohammad Rafiq Shad while those who received excellence awards included Munir Ahmed Bandini, Zafar Ali Zafar, Prof Zainab Sana, Mohammad Naeem Azad. Prof Dr Naseebullah, Prof Siyal Kakar, Dr Abdul Rehman Brahui, Ishaq Soz, Dr Liaqat Taban, Prof Dr Khaliq and others.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Opposition Leader Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate and provincial ministers were also present on the occasion.
Similarly, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a Pakistan Day function was held at the K-P Governor House.
Governor Shah Farman distributed a number of civil awards on behalf of President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi.
Dr Yasir Mahmood Yousafzai was also awarded for his services in the field of medicine. Likewise, Javed Mansoor Babar was given the civil award for his outstanding services in performing arts, Fayyaz Khan Khishgi for his excellent services in singing, Prof Dr Mohammad Ashraf Khan for his works in archeology, Prof Dr Yar Mohammad Maghmoom for his services in the field of literature and Prof Dr Shehzad Akbar for his public services.
The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation Muhammad Iqbal Wazir, Members of Assembly, Inspector General of Police Dr Sanaullah Abbasi and other senior officials as well as relatives of the recipients.
