Three educational institutions sealed in Abbottabad

Authorities imposed smart lockdown in 11 other areas to stop further spread of contagion.

ABBOTABAD:

The district administration Abbottabad on Monday sealed three educational institutions after teachers and students tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The authorities also imposed a smart lockdown in 11 areas to stop the further spread of the contagion.

According to the notification issued by the Abbottabad DC office, Government High School Ghambeer and Government High School No3 Abbottabad have been sealed for one week while Frontier Medical College has been sealed for five days as some of the students and faculty members have tested positive for Covid-19.

The district administration also imposed a smart lockdown in 11 localities on the recommendations of the health department to prevent the local transmission of Covid-19.

These areas include Batala Village, Ghari Phulgran, House 413-4 Kehal, INOR Colony Abbottabad, Allama Iqbal Colony Nawanshahar, Mandroach Kalan, Nawan Shahr, Jinnahabad Street 10, Mohalla Shimla Hills and Habeebullah Colony.

No general entry or exit to these localities by any person, except supply of essential commodities, shall be allowed, all types of gatherings within these premises are strictly prohibited.

Anyone contravening the directions shall render himself liable to be proceeded against under section 17 and 18 of the K-P Epidemic Control and Emergency Relief Ordinance. In Abbottabad district the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases were 3,677 where 3,388 patients have recovered, 140 were active and admitted to hospital for treatment and 149 have expired.
