Days after eggs and ink were thrown at Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill outside the Lahore High Court, the same episode was repeated in front of the Peshawar High Court on Thursday, but this time, it was opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Capt (retd) Safdar and the weapon were eggs. However, they hit a party worker and another instead of Safdar.
As a result, the PML-N workers staged a rally from the high court to Peshawar jail, chanting slogans against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Police arrested the man who threw the eggs and shifted him to a local police station.
According to details, the PML-N leader appeared in the Peshawar High Court in a case pertaining to assets beyond known sources of income. Provincial party leaders and workers accompanied him.
Safdar was leaving after his appearance when the incident took place. As soon as he came out of the high court building, a man threw two eggs at him. One egg hit the camera of a cameraman while the other hit a party worker accompanying Safdar.
Safdar and the workers charged towards the man who threw the eggs. Safdar picked up a stick and kept chasing the young man. However, the police arrested the person who threw the eggs.
According to the police, the man who threw the eggs was identified as Baz Muhammad.
The young man who threw the eggs was also tortured by the PML-N workers.
