Covid claims seven more lives, 241 new cases reported

As many as 241 more coronavirus cases and seven contagion-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Tuesday, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday.

The CM said following these developments, the Covid-19 death toll in the province had climbed to 4,468 and the infection tally to 261,822.

The number of recovered patient's stands at 253,041, with 184 fresh recoveries, he added.

According to the statement, 4,313 patients were under treatment for the infection on the day, with 4,021 people in home isolation, nine in isolation centres and 283 admitted to hospitals. The condition of 254 patients is stated to be critical, including 39 patients who have been placed on ventilators, he said.

Out of the 241 new cases, 78 belonged to Karachi, with 50 detected in East district, 14 in South district, six in Malir, five in Central district, two in West district and one in Korangi. Meanwhile, 35 new cases were reported in Kashmore-Kandhkot, 23 in Hyderabad, 18 in Dadu, 15 in Tando Muhammad Khan, 14 in Umerkot, 11 in Naushero Feroze and Thatta each, eight in Jacobabad, four in Ghotki, Sukkur and Jamshoro each, two in Matiari and one in Shaheed Benazirabad.
