Police book alleged paedophile

Police have registered a case against the passenger and launched a probe into the incident

A case has been registered against a rickshaw passenger for harassing a 12-year-old boy in the precincts of Westridge police station. According to police, Zaheer Ahmed said that his 12-year-old son was going to madrassah at around 6pm. However, the driver of the tri-wheeler stopped him near the Bilal Mosque Allahabad and offered him a lift. Another passenger in the rickshaw, later identified as Sawab Gul, started touching and caressing the boy. Alarmed at the lecherous advances, the boy jumped from the vehicle as soon as it slowed down on a speed breaker. The boy came running home shivering with fear and narrated the whole event, said the complainant. Police have registered a case against the passenger and launched a probe into the incident.
