SHO, duty officer suspended for lack of action

ISLAMABAD:

One person was killed while two others were injured in a firing incident over a land dispute in the precincts of the Koral police station on Tuesday. Nasir Iqbal, a resident of Gorha Mast suburb, informed the police that in an attempt to seize their land, a name named Alshafar along with 11 of his accomplices opened fire which killed Abdul Salam and left Siraj and Shafi severely injured. Subsequently, The police registered a case against, however, no suspect could be arrested. Taking notice of the firing incident, DIG (operations) Afzal Ahmad Kausar suspended Koral SHO Shamsul Akbar and duty officer Khalid Iqbal Rokrifor not taking action despite reports of the murder in the precincts. He said that the whole matter was being investigated and action would be taken against officials for lack of action as well.
