The Punjab government has announced Ramazan Package worth Rs7 billion for providing relief to the people during the holy month.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, while chairing the cabinet committee meeting on Monday, highlighted that a total of 313 Ramazan Bazaars will be established across the province where a 10-kg flour bag will be available at Rs300.
Punjab government will provide around Rs3.5 billion subsidy for this, he added. Meanwhile, the implementation of coronavirus SOPs, including observance of social distancing, will be fully ensured.
Agriculture fair-price shops will also be established to provide fruits and vegetables at the rates of 2018. Similarly, gram flour, dates, dried chickpeas, lentils and other items will also be available at the rates of the year 2018, he further said.

“Sugar will be provided at Rs60 per kg and ghee, chicken and eggs will be sold Rs10 to Rs15 less than the market price.”
The chief minister directed officials concerned to provide maximum relief to the citizens adding that the scope of Sahulat Bazaars will be expanded.
He also instructed to establish Sahulat Bazaar Authority to provide relief to the consumers. He directed to follow austerity measures while arranging Ramazan Bazaars and the saved money be utilised for providing relief to the public.
