Two held for aerial firing which killed groom’s father

RAWALPINDI:

Two suspects were arrested for firing shots in the air at a wedding function which killed a man and injured two others in village Mator.

The Kahuta police said they had arrested and booked Taimur Khan and Faheem Mustafa for aerial firing at the Mehndi function of a man named Sajjad whose father, Azhar Mehmood, had lost his life, while his aunt, Sonia Shehzadi, and a 14-year-old Saim Wahid, who had come to attend the wedding from Mandra with his parents, had sustained injuries.

Two days ago, police had arrested two suspects for aerial firing and busted two others over fireworks. Police said Suleman and Numan were apprehended for firing shots in the air and that two 9mm and 30bore pistols were found on them. Meanwhile, Abdul Bari and Sher Ali were rounded up for being involved in fireworks during a wedding ceremony, police said.
