Kareena Kapoor Khan inspired ‘pawri girl’ Dananeer Mobeen
It's been over a month since the 'pawri' started and it seems like it won't stop for a while. Dananeer Mobeen – Pakistan's latest social media star – made headlines when a five-second clip of her from a trip with her friends went viral on social media, propelling her to unprecedented fame.
The aforementioned video was re-enacted by a plethora of celebrities from Pakistan and India. Actors including Mahira Khan, Yasir Hussain, Aijaz Aslam and B-town bigwigs Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, gave their own spin to the clip.
Since stepping into the spotlight, Dananeer has been named the brand ambassador for the Pakistan Super League team Peshawar Zalmi and has appeared in multiple morning shows. Earlier, she shared heartfelt gratitude over the overwhelming response to the most “random” video she has ever filmed.
While talking to Bollywood Hungama in a recent interview, the 19-year-old influencer weighed in on who she looks up to and it is none other than Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan. Dananeer, who has always been an avid Indian cinema fan, revealed that when she was a child, she used to stare endlessly at pictures of Shah Rukh Khan, also adding that her favourite Bollywood character was Kareena’s Poo from the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
“I think not just me but the entire world can relate to Poo. I feel I personally relate to Poo at times. So, I’ll just be sitting with friends and they’ll say something like 'Okay! So, we’re going to watch a movie' and I’ll be like, ‘Tell me how it was!’” she quipped.
Responding to whether there is an element of Poo in the 'Pawri girl', Dananeer said, “Poo I think humare andar bas gayee hai (Poo is deeply ingrained in all of us). So, in anything that you do, it's the sass that Poo has that comes out." Reacting to the video shared by Juhi Chawla, which included scenes for the popular 90s film Mr and Mrs Khiladi, Dananeer said, “It was so beautiful to see her hopping on to the trend. She is such a legend.”
As for Randeep Hooda, who made the pawri video with a couple of children, Dananeer remarked, “It's overwhelming to see such a wholesome video, with kids and all joining in on the trend.” Reacting to the video the Kabir Singh star Shahid made, Dananeer commented, “I was hyperventilating when I saw that video. His Chup Chup Ke is one of my most favourite films. I have seen it at least 10 times. I can still watch it more than 20 times. I don't think I can ever get tired of that movie.”
Bollywood’s superstars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone had also jumped onto the bandwagon.
While the former made a video with a fan, Deepika shared a post with her childhood pictures. Reacting to Ranveer’s video, Dananeer said, “I was like this is probably fake right. I was in disbelief when I saw the video. It was unreal. I was blown out of my mind. He is such a legend. Everyone loves him here, especially me.”
Speaking about Deepika’s enaction of the same, she added, “The picture of hers is from her childhood with a horse. It is unreal, amazing and mind-blowing.” Finally, reacting to Sidharth’s pawri video, Dananeer said, “He is one of Pakistan's biggest crushes. Him doing it was crazy.”
