KARACHI:

In a statement issued on the day, he said that the board for the Endowment Fund for Needy Writers, Poets and Artists has approved provision of health cards for eligible applicants and has extended the age limit by 10 years.

"Writers, poets and artists are a sensitive section of our society. They enrich the world of literature and art with their work caring little for their own comfort," said Sardar.

According to Culture, Tourism and Antiquities director-general Abdul Aleem Lashari earlier the age limit was between 45 to 65 years, now artists aged between 35 and 65 can apply for health insurance, which was advertised in newspapers.
