‘Over Rs5b vehicle tax collected from Karachi’

In addition to Rs1.25 billion property tax collected during the said period says minister

KARACHI:

Sindh Excise and Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said Rs5.42 billion was collected on account of vehicle tax from Karachi between July 2020 and February 2021.

During the same period, he said, vehicle tax worth Rs696.35m was collected from Hyderabad, Rs168.49m from Sukkur, Rs69.87m from Shaheed Benazirabad, Rs46.65m from Mirpurkhas and Rs79.95m from Larkana.

Speaking about property tax collected during the said period, the minister said, Rs1.25 billion was collected from Karachi, Rs61.77 million from Hyderabad, Rs29.81m from Sukkur, Rs8.09m from Shaheed Benazirabad, Rs8.72m from Mirpurkhas and Rs18.45 million from Larkana.
