PIMS warns staff of punitive action for refusing Covid jabs
Some 3,848 medical staffers had registered for vaccination however, only 1,805 staffers have completed the process
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) management has hinted at punitive action against the healthcare workers who did not get themselves vaccinated against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) despite being registered. A warning letter was issued by the Pims management on Sunday.
All medical staff at the healthcare facility has been directed to undergo vaccination at the earliest. The circular said that there would be punitive action against the left over staff.
According to sources, some 3,848 medical staffers had registered themselves for vaccination. However, only 1,805 staffers have completed the process while 2,923 are still left.
Meanwhile, 153 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Islamabad on Sunday. District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Zaeem Zia said that the infection rate in the federal capital was on the rise as last week about 857 cases were reported in the city.
