ISLAMABAD:

In a bid to create tax awareness, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) conducted training sessions in different educational institutions on Thursday. The sessions were organised at Federal Government (FG) Degree College on Abid Majeed Road and FG Quaid-i-Azam College Chaklala in Rawalpindi.

A spokesperson shared that the training programmes were organised under the auspices of the Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantonment/Garrison) Directorate and the Ministry of Defence. Multiple activities were conducted which helped students understand the tax structure and importance of the responsibility of paying taxes, they added.

The students were informed about the 'Tax Asaan App' and the filing process while a quiz competition was also organised in which questions related to the tax system were asked. The participants learnt about the benefits of tax filing while being apprised about the negative effects on the economy due to tax evasion.
