Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has been a part of the industry for nearly two decades. But in an interview with Sidhart Kannan, the Once Upon a Time in Mumbai actor revealed that he has distanced himself from all the glitz and glamour connected with it. He had also said that the industry is “very fake,” reported Hindustan Times.
The 41-year-old revealed that he had distanced himself only because Bollywood is one thing on the face and the other behind one’s back. “Aisa toh hai (This is a fact). There are no two ways about it. That is the truth of our industry. But it is not just because of that. I think a person’s life should be more than just their profession.”
Hashmi, who is known for films such as Jannat, Murder, Raaz and many more, had mentioned that he has maintained the positive environment only because of his friends who have no connection to the film industry. He also thanked his family for always keeping him ‘rooted’ and for their criticism.
The Gangster star also added that maintaining a distance from anything toxic helps him maintain his sanity.
Currently, Hashmi is gearing up for an action thriller titled Mumbai Saga, set to release on March 19. The film also stars John Abraham, Kajal Agarwal, Suniel Shetty, Rohit Roy and Amole Gupte in pivotal roles. His other projects include Chehre, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rhea Chakraborty. Lastly, Hashmi will be seen as one of the gangsters in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s feature film Gangubai Kathiawadi.
