ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court on Thursday extended the tenure of the interim management of Islamabad Gun and Country Club for four months.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial presided over suo moto notice against the club.

Lawyer Naeem Bukhari told the bench that the current administrative committee has decided to form a new structure of the club similar to that of the Islamabad Club.

The coordination secretary said legislation would be required for this purpose.

The lawyer said the committee wanted to introduce a new structure through an act of parliament rather than an ordinance. Justice Bandial expressed satisfaction that the committee had reached a conclusion. He directed them to present the matter before the federal cabinet too.
