Man who was shot by relatives succumbs to injuries

Muhammad Akhtar, was shot and injured by his close relatives during a minor altercation

RAWALPINDI:

A man who sustained bullet injuries during a clash between his relatives in Chowki Mohalla in the jurisdiction of Ratta Amral police station died on Monday after three-week-long treatment, a spokesperson shared on Tuesday.

According to details, the deceased, Muhammad Akhtar, was shot and injured by his close relatives during a minor altercation on January 25.

The victim was admitted to District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital where he was undergoing treatment. A few days ago, he was discharged from the hospital and was being treated at home where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the age of 50.

Police said that an FIR was registered against the suspects under the section of attempted murder. However, after Akhtar’s death, a section pertaining to murder will also be included in the case.
