ISLAMABAD:

The Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) has decided to auction its 55 properties spread over a cumulative area of over 3,162 kanals

The real estate in 20 urban centres left behind by the migrating Hindu and Sikh population during the 1947 partition will be put up for public auction to set education and health facilities.

The reserve price of these prime location properties will be kept low at 10 percent of the market value to facilitate health and education sectors.

As per vision of PM Imran Khan, the federal cabinet approved the amendments to supplement health and education facilities to the general public by utilising urban evacuee trust properties through the public and private sector, said a letter of ETPB.

The public sector comprising federal, provincial, and local governments were eligible to apply to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony whereas non-profitable and charitable institutions were also encouraged to apply for utilising the properties for public facilitation.

The letter added that the terms and conditions or rent would be determined by the board whereas the final approval would be granted by the federal government.
