Art before politics: Euphoria shares fond memories of performing with Strings

They say art transcends borders, and rightfully so. While the film industries of the neighbouring countries are going through a hiatus for exchanging talent due to the ongoing political scenarios, the artists miss the simpler times when they could perform together. Recalling their Pakistan tour, Indian band Euphoria recently penned a heartfelt note for their Pakistani counterparts, Strings.

The famous bands have performed onstage to a raving crowd several times.

"I believe friendships are made in heaven and can’t be controlled by governments, religions, faiths or countries," the band wrote on Facebook as Euphoria's frontman Palash Sen posts a picture with Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia. "Here are my two awesome friends from Pakistan - Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia from the legendary band - Strings!"

The Maaeri singer went on to laud the Pakistani artists and added, "I am inspired by them, I admire them, I adore them and I respect them, immensely. We have played countless gigs together, shared meals and cared about each other."

"When Euphoria toured Pakistan, they hosted a dinner for us attended by the entire Pakistan music industry, at Bilal’s home and it is a memory that will stay mehfuz (safe) with me forever. The love, the warmth and the affection we share knows no boundaries, borders or hatred," he continued. "We are friends, we are brothers and we’ll always be!"

Earlier, talking to The Express Tribune, Sen talked about a concert Euphoria performed alongside Strings in 2014. He had mentioned, “There were 10,000 people all on their feet, cheering us. No one cared if you came from Pakistan or India. Strings and Euphoria received a lot of love from everyone alike.”
