KARACHI:

The police arrested on Friday three persons suspected of kidnapping and abducting a student, B*, in Karachi.

The action was taken after the father of the student got an FIR registered at the Steel Town police station.

In his statement to the police, S said his 16-year-old daughter, a student of first year at a government college in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, lad left home for college on February 9, but didn't return.

"We searched for her at multiple places, but weren't able to find her," he told the police, adding that the next day he received a call from the Defence Police and was informed that they had found a girl in an unconscious state.

The father said the police told him the girl identified herself as B, adding that later visited the police station and took B back home, where she told her family that she had been raped.

According to the father, B told them that she was abducted by two persons, namely Sami and Fawwad, in a car and took her to an unknown location, where three other men were also present. He added that B said they raped her and later threw her in Defence Housing Authority.

The police have arrested three suspects, identified as Sami, Fawwad and Adil, and launched further investigation into the matter.

According to the police, the DNA samples of B and arrested suspects have been collected for testing.

Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur visited B's family at their residence and assured them that culprits would be taken to task. He said a special team for investigating the case had been constituted and it would submit reports on daily basis.
