Coronavirus claims 25 more lives in Sindh

Positivity rate at 3.4% with 324 fresh cases detected

The pandemic claimed 25 more lives and 324 fresh cases were detected in Sindh, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House on Tuesday. The provincial death toll stood at 4,157 while the tally of confirmed cases rose to 251,757.

As many as 228,592 persons in the province have recovered from the contagion, including 644 overnight, said CM Syed Murad Ali Shah. He informed that a total of 2,820,284 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Sindh thus far.

The 324 fresh cases were detected when 9,599 samples were tested indicating a detection rate of 3.4 per cent, added Shah.

The CM said that currently 19,008 patients are under treatment for the contagion. Of these 18,460 are in home isolation, eight at isolation centers and 540 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 497 patients is stated to be critical, with at least 66 patients shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 324 new cases, 167 were detected from Karachi.
